just me on my soapbox

Alright, so I know I mostly post about my kids, but I have a most important matter I would like to discuss. If you all can pardon me for being on a bit of a soapbox about this subject, just take it for what it is worth and go with it. So I say to all of my friends out there: STOP SLOUCHING!! I have seen the most slumpy shoulders, hunched backs, and droopy necks in the past few months and I just can't take it. Especially women with children tend to start slouching terribly, and it really looks awful. I know, I know, it is hard to stand up straight when you have a baby on your hip, or quite frankly when you have two half gallons of milk on the front of you at certain times!! However, there is nothing more beautiful than a woman with regal posture. I don't mean look snooty, but throw those shoulders back, stand up straight, tuck your bum in and hold your head high. By golly that looks so much better!! Stand tall, and look confidently radiant!

I agree with esmiley. I don't want to be the elderly lady in the grocery store (in 30 years) walking with a cane totally hunched over!! 31 DAYS GIRLIE GIRL & IT'S P*A*R*T*Y!!

I come from a family of slouchers and I will not join them on that. I tell my husband to remind me when he sees me slouching to sit up. It is hard when you're pregnant and have a baby on your hip, however, I don't have to worry about milk jugs. I always thought you had great posture! Thanks for the reminder.

boy are you right...not only do I need to work on the regal posture but probably on holding the belly in as well! I swore I'd never be one of those...

oh, and one more thing....just like wendy says, the only thing I ever had to worry about were my milk pints!

Gosh, I am totally one of those slouchers Bec. My mom used to always say to us: "SUP!" which stood for "sit up straignt". However, it didn't wear off much on me as I have TERRIBLE posture still.

Rebecca, I took your advice, but to tell you the truth, I'm not sure I'm ready to look "confidently radiant."

I love this post. I so feel this way. It KILLS me when I catch a photo taken when I didn't know it and I see poor posture on myself. AAAH!! It really ruins a person's beauty, I think.

Oh I remember my entire adolescence my mother told me the same thing. Good advice!

Lovin' the soap box. I agree. I used to have such a nice posture. I just figured I was slouching because I had weak abs. I guess some of it does have to do with habit of leaning over. Thanks for the shout out - I'll work on it. ;)
